Todd, a 3-month-old puppy, suffered serious injuries, including a shattered back leg, when he was both hit by a car and attacked by his littermates. His owner gave him up to the shelter, which without us would have had to euthanize Todd to end his suffering because it did not have the funds for the surgery he needed. So Friends of AACACC arranged and paid for Todd to go to an emergency clinic for immediate care, then to an animal hospital for complex surgery to his leg performed by Dr. Hooman A. Pooya, an orthopedic specialist from Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital in Frederick. Todd left the shelter with an outstanding rescue partner, Pitties and Purrs Rescue, Inc., and now is recovering at the home of an experienced foster.
